General Information - Studying on the Gold Coast
Entry Requirements Each of the Universities servicing the Gold Coast region is committed to equity and diversity. In addition to traditional pathways, they offer a variety of flexible pathways and entry opportunities for potential national or international students.
Credit Transfer and Recognition for Prior Learning
Each Institution assesses the qualifications and life experience of potential students to determine their eligibility for entry into particular courses, or for a reduction in their time of study.
Evaluations are determined in accordance with Australian Qualifications Framework AQF - National Principles and Operational Guidelines for Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) and in keeping with individual Institutional policy guidelines. |

Recognition for Prior Learning
Recognition for Prior Learning is offered by each Institution, in accordance with government guidelines and institutional policy. It recognises the specific skills, previously unrecognised qualifications and experience that individual's have built up throughout their working life or studies.
RPL is an assessment process that evaluates the individual's non-formal and informal learning, to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning outcomes, competency outcomes or standards for entry to, and/or partial or total completion of, a qualification. |
Credit Transfer Arrangements
Credit for courses is given on an individual basis for advanced standing relevant post-secondary study (including TAFE courses), relevant professional experience or demonstrable expertise. Exact credit to be allocated is subject to policy guidelines, and previously tested precedents of each individual Institution, and in keeping with Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Credit transfer assesses the initial course or subject that the individual is using to claim access to, or the award of credit in, the destination course to determine the extent to which it is equivalent to the required learning outcomes, competency outcomes, or standards in a qualification. This may include a transfer based on formal learning that is outside the AQF framework. |
