We are in the midst of an industrial revolution created by the digital economy. There is barely a field of human endeavour now that isn’t influenced by the digital world. Almost every facet of life has become part of the digital economy and all of it underpinned by data. Every second of every day more and more data is collected electronically.
Data provides insights, allowing you to strategically plan and develop new initiatives. From customer relationship management systems to automated chatbots, enterprises are drawing on data to develop new markets, drive business and satisfy customer needs. As new business models evolve access to high quality education and training will become ever more important so that our graduates are job ready to ensure we remain competitive in the global economy.
While we increasingly find new ways to engage with technology moral and ethical questions will continue to be raised as more and more of our personal information is gathered through ever more complex and interconnected databases. With legislation struggling to keep up with the arrival of each new technological adaptation consumers are increasingly determining what role technology plays in our lives. This presents a wealth of opportunities and is where the Gold Coast can play a leading role.
