Conversation and collaboration between student and teacher are at the heart of Hillcrest. Our Project-Based learning environment is rigorous, innovative and student-centred, fostering a dynamic classroom approach that provokes deeper learning through active exploration of real-world problems and issues. Our mission is to challenge minds, ignite imagination, and train the future leaders that have been entrusted to us. These goals are in the pursuit of expanding children’s lives spiritually and enlarging their capacity to treat others with genuine dignity and respect.
International students are assigned English-speaking homestay families who have been carefully selected by the College, ensuring a full immersion experience of Australian culture and way of life.
Hillcrest incorporates Design-Centred Learning (DCL), where students engage in tasks that solve authentic problems for a real-world audience.
Hillcrest uses Microsoft EDU’s 21CLD – or 21st Century Learning Design framework. The SECRET skills framework was created by Cambridge University researcher, Dan Buckley, which identified the essential skills students need to learn to be highly successful
We offer a diverse range of pathways from: Honours, Traditional, Sporting Excellence, Performing Arts Excellence, Workplace Practices, School-based Apprenticeships and Life Skills programs.
“I think what makes Hillcrest special for me is just the loving community and the passion that goes into everything that we do. What I’ve noticed about Hillcrest especially is that the teachers really care for every student and make sure that we’re doing well in our personal lives, not just in our schooling lives and really go that extra step to make Hillcrest a really special place for us.”
