The event kicked off with a performance by the Bond University award-winning cheerleaders, followed by a fantastic night of tropical beats, drinks and canapes, catching up with old mates and meeting new ones, and of course, some sweet prizes. Thanks to all of those came and helped make it such a successful night.
Our student ambassadors had the chance to discover the beauty that is Freeman's Farm and they loved it! From taking in the breathtaking landscape to eating fresh produce, it was a healthy day spent in nature.
Our student ambassadors had the chance to experience the Dreamworld Corroboree interactive walk-through experience celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, wildlife and stories. The students learned about traditional stories, cuddled koalas and participated in hands-on activities including fire making, cultural weapons demonstration and music making.
Our international student ambassadors had the chance to experience AFL culture at the Southport Sharks club! Hosted by Southport Sharks CEO, Dean Bowtell, the students were given a tour of the Southport Sharks club and had the chance to participate in a football clinic on Fankhauser Reserve. To top off a great day, the students enjoyed an Aussie sausage sizzle and some networking opportunities with Southport Sharks staff members. This experience helped to highlight the unique and varied learning opportunities on the Gold Coast and encourages international students to integrate into the local community.

The 2016 Gold Coast Careers Expo, presented by Griffith University, was a great success! Thousands of high school students, job seekers and career changers attended the Expo at RACV Royal Pines Resort, Benowa.
We unveiled some exciting changes at this year’s Expo – to complement the education and training space we created an employment precinct and an interactive hair and beauty space. Both of these new spaces allowed us to highlight more opportunities and pathways available to students looking for their next steps, career changers or those wishing to re-train.
Attendees had the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, including: City of Gold Coast, 2018 Commonwealth Games, James Frizelle’s Automotive Group, Defence Force Recruitment, Star Entertainment and NAB.
The Gold Coast's education imperative with Bernard Salt presented by Griffith University was a fantastic and inspiring event. Thanks to all Study Gold Coast members and guests who attended the breakfast and participated in the invaluable workshop.
