Gold Coast New Student Grants Terms & Conditions
1. General
(a) These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to any application for and receipt of the grant known as the “Gold Coast New Student Grants" offered by Experience Gold Coast Pty Ltd ACN 633 448 094 (“Experience Gold Coast”).
(b) The Gold Coast New Student Grants is awarded to genuine Future Students arriving on the Gold Coast from offshore who satisfy the Eligibility Criteria and are within the Quota outlined in these Terms.
(c) By applying for the Gold Coast New Student Grants, Applicants:
(i) agree to these Terms;
(ii) consent to the collection of their personal information in accordance with the privacy statement outlined below (see ‘Privacy Statement’); and
(iii) consent to receiving information and marketing communications from Experience Gold Coast in accordance with the Experience Gold Coast Privacy Policy located at https://www.experiencegoldcoast.au/privacy-policy. Applicants may opt-out of promotional communications from Experience Gold Coast at any time.
(d) Applicants should not base their decision to study on the outcome of their Gold Coast New Student Grants application.
(e)Applicants are not guaranteed to be awarded the Gold Coast New Student Grants.
(f) Information on how to apply and the description of the Gold Coast New Student Grants are included in these Terms.
2. Gold Coast New Student Grants Details
Experience Gold Coast is offering International Students who satisfy the Eligibility Criteria set out in these Terms the opportunity to be awarded the Gold Coast New Student Grants worth a total of AUD$1000 (“Grant Amount”).
This document sets out the terms and conditions that apply to the Gold Coast New Student Grants.

3. Gold Coast New Student Grants Eligibility Criteria
3.1 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants, an Applicant must:
(a) satisfactorily complete the application process outlined in these Terms (see ‘How to Apply’);
(b) be able to be classified as an International Student in Australia;
(c) commence enrolment as a new student in a course at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution between 1 May 2025 and 30 November 2025;
(d) hold a valid student visa (subclass 500) and maintain the student visa for the duration of their enrolment at Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution(s);
(e) maintain ongoing residency on the Gold Coast for the duration of the relevant course/studies at the Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution;
(f) maintain enrolment at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution for at least 24 academic weeks including packaged offers/multiple courses;
(h) submit all requested documentation to meet the conditions associated with the Gold Coast New Student Grants by the Verification Date; and
(i) have an account with an Australian bank under their own name to receive the Grant Amount.
3.2 Ineligible Persons
Applicants will not be eligible to apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants if they:
(a) have not completed the Gold Coast New Student Grants application process outlined in these Terms (see ‘How to Apply’) by the application Closing Date;
(b) have already applied for and/or received the Gold Coast New Student Grants;
(c) are International Students residing in Australia at the time of applying for the Gold Coast New Student Grants;
(d) are International Students currently enrolled with and who have commenced studies with an Australian tertiary or other educational institution (including an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution);
(e) are a domestic student; or
(f) are an employee of Experience Gold Coast.
4. Quota on Eligible Applicants
(a) The Gold Coast New Student Grants is limited to the first 250 successful applications being the first 250 Applicants who meet the Eligibility Criteria (“Quota”).
(b) Experience Gold Coast reserves the right to close applications when the Quota is exhausted or at any time before the Quota is exhausted for any other reason at the sole discretion of Experience Gold Coast with no advance notice.
5. How to Apply
5.1 Overview of application process
Applicants may apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants via the following process:
(a) Lodge an application form online (at http://goldcoaststudentgrants.com) by completing all mandatory fields indicated in the form.
(b) Receive confirmation via email that the application has been received. The application must be received by Experience Gold Coast prior to the Closing Date to be considered.
(c) Successful Applicants will receive a conditional approval with information on next steps for verification of their application and eligibility for the Gold Coast New Student Grants.
(d) Attend the Gold Coast Student Hub in-person by the Verification Date and provide copies of documents to verify eligibility for the Gold Coast New Student Grants including but not limited to:
(i) passport;
(ii) a copy of the Applicant’s student visa grant notification;
(iii) Confirmation of Enrolment (“CoE”) at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution;
(iv) the Applicant’s Unique Student Identifier (“USI”) if they have one (a USI can be obtained at www.usi.gov.au);
(v) evidence of arrival date on the Gold Coast (e.g. flight ticket); and
(vi) nominated Australian bank account details.
(e) Additional documents or evidence relating to satisfaction of the Eligibility Criteria may be required at the discretion of Experience Gold Coast.
(f) Applicants who have successfully verified their applications and accepted the Gold Coast New Student Grants will be issued $1000 deposited directly into their nominated Australian bank account. The nominated bank account’s name must match the beneficiary student's name to ensure financial compliance and prevent fraud.
(g) Applicants may withdraw their application at any time by emailing [email protected].
5.2 Application process timing
The Gold Coast New Student Grants application involves three key stages:
- Applications Open: 11 February 2025.
- Applications Processed: Commences 1 April 2025 – all Applicants are notified of the outcome of their application and next steps.
- Applications Verified / Claim Stage: Commences 1 May 2025 and concludes 30 November 2025 – successful Applicants must visit the Gold Coast Student Hub in person to claim the Gold Coast New Student Grants on a Wednesday between the specified dates but not later than the Verification Date.
The Application will be open until the Quota is exhausted or otherwise on 30 June 2025 (whichever is earlier) (“Closing Date”).
5.3 Conditions of Application
(a) Applications submitted without all mandatory questions answered will not be considered.
(b) Experience Gold Coast is under no obligation to advise an Applicant if their application conforms to the Eligibility Criteria and/or process set out in these Terms.
(c) Applicants should not assume their application has been lodged or submitted unless a confirmation email is received from Experience Gold Coast.
(d) No responsibility will be accepted by Experience Gold Coast for late, lost, or misdirected applications.
(e) Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible applications will be deemed invalid.
(f) Experience Gold Coast is not responsible for any problems the Applicant has sending or receiving communication to or from Experience Gold Coast, including the technical malfunction of a computer or any issues related to the Applicant’s access or use of technology in completing the application.
(g) Experience Gold Coast reserves the right to request any evidence required by Experience Gold Coast to verify an Applicant’s satisfaction of the Eligibility Criteria, including, for example, an Applicant's identity, age, place of residence, proof of future study (confirmation of enrolment), and any other relevant documentation.
(h) Experience Gold Coast may disqualify any Applicant who tampers with the Gold Coast New Student Grants application process or who submits an application that Experience Gold Coast, in its sole discretion, deems to be offensive, inappropriate, defamatory, or otherwise not in keeping with the spirit of the Gold Coast New Student Grants.
(i) The Applicant warrants that all information supplied as part of the application process is true and correct at the time of submission and must inform Experience Gold Coast immediately if any information supplied as part of the application becomes incorrect after the date of submission.
(j) By applying for the Gold Coast New Student Grants, the Applicant warrants that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
(k) Experience Gold Coast reserves the right to withdraw the Gold Coast New Student Grants at any time and for any reason.
(l) All applications for the Gold Coast New Student Grants are the intellectual property of Experience Gold Coast.
(m) Experience Gold Coast reserves the right to make additional offers to Applicants that do not meet the Eligibility Criteria outlined in these Terms.
(n) Experience Gold Coast is not responsible for payment of any Applicant’s education fees, relocation and moving expenses, travelling, miscellaneous purchases, or associated costs.
6. Selection Process
(a) Decisions regarding applications for the Gold Coast New Student Grants will be undertaken by representatives of Experience Gold Coast and other persons selected by Experience Gold Coast.
(b) Applications will be considered by Experience Gold Coast taking into consideration the following (but not limited to):
(i) the Applicant’s fully completed and submitted Gold Coast New Student Grants application form including declaration of having read and understood these Terms;
(ii) the Applicant’s student visa;
(iii) the confirmation of enrolment into the Applicant’s nominated course at an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution; and
(iv) evidence of the Applicant’s arrival date to Australia.
(c) If an application satisfies the Eligibility Criteria (subject to verification of supporting documentation), Experience Gold Coast will send an email to inform the Applicant of conditional approval. Applicants are not required to respond by email.
(d) Applicants who have received conditional approval must have their application and supporting documentation verified in-person at the Gold Coast Student Hub.
(e)After verification of the supporting documentation, successful Applicants will be notified of their successful application in writing via email and will have until the date nominated in that email to accept. Applicants who do not accept by the due date will be deemed to have withdrawn their application and will not receive the Grant Amount.
(f)Experience Gold Coast's selection decisions for the Gold Coast New Student Grants are final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
(g) Experience Gold Coast will not offer any compensation to a recipient if the Gold Coast New Student Grants or their acceptance of the application is revoked.
7. Unsuccessful Applicants
(a) Applicants who are unsuccessful will be notified via email.
(b) Applicants who have already applied for the Gold Coast New Student Grants (whether successfully or unsuccessfully) cannot re-apply, however, they may apply for other funding and grant opportunities offered by Experience Gold Coast.
8. Conditions of Gold Coast New Student Grants
Recipients of the Grant must satisfy the following conditions for the duration of their studies at the relevant Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution (“Conditions”):
(a) be continuously engaged and enrolled with an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution for the duration of their enrolled course/studies;
(b) at all times meet the Eligibility Criteria; and
(c) not become an Ineligible Person.
The Gold Coast New Student Grants is not transferable to other individuals.
9. Liability
Other than any liability that cannot be excluded by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), Experience Gold Coast (including its officers, employees, and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Gold Coast New Student Grants and any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special, or consequential arising in any way out of the Gold Coast New Student Grants including but not limited to where arising out of the following:
(a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not within Experience Gold Coast’s control);
(b) any loss or costs associated with or resulting from an Applicant’s reliance on the Gold Coast New Student Grants or receipt of the Grant Amount;
(c) any application that is late, lost, altered, damaged, or misdirected (whether or not after its receipt by Experience Gold Coast) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of Experience Gold Coast;
(d) any theft, unauthorised access, or third party interference; and
(e) any tax liability incurred by a recipient of a Grant Amount.

11. Privacy Statement
Experience Gold Coast Pty Ltd ACN 633 448 094 of 301N 12 Charles Avenue Broadbeach QLD 4218 Australia may collect personal information from Applicants directly (e.g., information provided by an Applicant in their application) or from a third party for the purpose of assessing their eligibility for the Gold Coast New Student Grants and compliance with these Terms.
All personal information collected about Applicants will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld), and Experience Gold Coast’s privacy policy located at https://corporate.experiencegoldcoast.com/privacy-policy.
An Applicant’s personal information may be disclosed and shared with Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institutions (unless the Applicant formally advises Experience Gold Coast not to provide this information) for the purpose of assessing eligibility for the Gold Coast New Student Grants and determining compliance with these Terms. Experience Gold Coast may not be able to approve or verify an application if the Applicant advises that they do not wish for Experience Gold Coast to disclose their personal information to Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institutions.
Personal information collected may also be disclosed to third parties with an Applicant’s consent or as permitted or required by law. An Applicant’s personal information will be stored securely.
If an Applicant wishes to access or correct any of their personal information, discuss how it has been managed, or has a concern or complaint about the way their personal information has been collected, used, stored, or disclosed, the Applicant may contact Experience Gold Coast by email at [email protected].
12. Definitions
Applicant means a person who applies for the Gold Coast New Student Grants.
Closing Date means the date on which the Quota is exhausted or 30 June 2025, whichever is the earlier.
Conditions means the conditions for the Gold Coast New Student Grants set out at paragraph 8 above.
Eligibility Criteria means the criteria set out at paragraph 3.1 above setting out the criteria to be eligible to receive the Gold Coast New Student Grants.
Eligible Applicant means an Applicant who satisfies the Eligibility Criteria.
Experience Gold Coast means Experience Gold Coast Pty Ltd ACN 633 448 094.
Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution means a financial member of Experience Gold Coast including a university, TAFE, English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) provider, Registered Training Organisation (RTO), or school as listed on the Study Gold Coast website at https://www.studygoldcoast.org.au/corporate/members/our-members/.
Future Student means a prospective offshore International Student intending to enrol in a course with an Experience Gold Coast Education Member Institution at the time the application is made.
Gold Coast New Student Grants means the provision of the Grant Amount to an Eligible Applicant in accordance with these Terms.
Gold Coast Student Hub means the Gold Coast Student Hub operated by Experience Gold Coast located at 43 Nerang Street, Southport QLD 4215.
Grant Amount means AUD$1000.
Ineligible Person means a person who is ineligible to apply for the Gold Coast New Student Grants pursuant to paragraph 3.2.
International Student means a student that is not a citizen of Australia or New Zealand.
Quota means the first 250 applications received by Experience Gold Coast where the Applicant:
(a) satisfies the Eligibility Criteria;
(b) completes the Verification Process; and
(c) accepts the Gold Coast New Student Grants in accordance with paragraph 5.1(e).
Terms means these terms and conditions.
Verification Process means the verification of an application and supporting documentation at the Gold Coast Student Hub in accordance with clauses 5.1(d) and 6(d).
Verification Date means 30 days after the later of the Applicant:
(a) arriving on the Gold Coast; and
(b) receiving conditional approval for their application under paragraph 5.1(c).
