Ambassador of the Month

Why did you choose to study on the GC?

To run away from my parents in Sydney. Jokes - it was initially for the beaches, theme parks, and the relaxing vibes here.

What did you know about the Gold Coast before you arrived?

I'd only heard about Movieworld, Wet n Wild, and Seaworld 4 years ago. I thought I was gonna lounge there every day when not studying...

Have your impressions changed since then?

It's changed incredibly. There are so many new events, festivals and escape rooms, etc… that are popping up every week. There are these secret views out there you discover with friends that you cannot Google and find. There are so many natural precincts, food spots and hikes to go on that the theme parks have now faded out of my vision.

What do you love about studying here?
The diversity. Diversity brings with it stories that blow your mind. And crazy stories spark conversations that leave you thinking. Have you watched the movie Truth and Dare? It really leaves you thinking. I really love Sydney's city buzz but the Gold Coast has these amazing hinterlands, campus events, and better traffic that make it a much better studying place. It has less buzz than Sydney and therefore less distractions, because it means you can explore at your own pace. The people here are incredible; people love greeting you on the streets and making you feel welcome.

What’s one really cool thing about your institution?

They do day tours and even camps to random places.

What have you learnt about yourself since you began studying here?

So much. I learnt that I'll never be perfect, but if I am a better version of myself today than yesterday consistently, I will be mine and everyone's masterpiece.

What’s the one thing you really miss from home?

I miss how crazy Sydney's city area gets, and my high school friends. I've also lived in Singapore. I really miss Singapore's hawker food, their prawn noodles, carrot cake and so much more.

Where do you like to hang out on the GC?

I like hanging out at Strike Bowling, Broadbeach and tanning at the beach. I hang out at all the newest events I can find information on.

What’s the GC’s best kept secret?

Definitely the Study Gold Coast Student Hub located right outside the Southport tram stop. People don't know there's free tea and coffee here. (and a great team of people! – ed).

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?

I tutor primary and high school students. I live a life mission and it is my ultimate passion to pilot an education reform. I also want to end poverty, hunger. World peace is idealistic but yea.

What are your plans after graduation?

I am currently looking for a job as a dentist after graduation. Sooo it would be amazing to get an interview from any dentists reading this!
