A New Home For Kool Kids
20 Aug 2021
Kool Kids Training College have commenced construction on a new teaching facility in Southport. While inspecting the construction work this week, College Manager Sam Hendry was excited about the potential of the new facility.
“We are planning for a time in the not-too-distant future when we can welcome students back into our training rooms – both domestic and international. This vision of delivering the best training facility in Early Childhood Education and Care sector in Australia is taking shape and our students will love it!”, Sam said.
State of the Art
The new Kool Kids Training College will boast 153 square metres of floor space with two state of the art technologically equipped training rooms featuring presenter tracking cameras delivering enhanced interactivity for students studying online. The facility will also include a substantial collaborative meeting space for post lecture review sessions, as well as an onsite gym.
Study Gold Coast CEO says this is welcome news for the local industry and a vote of confidence in the city’s education and training sector.
“At a time when the sector is shrinking nationally due to border closures we’ve seen a growing confidence in the future of the Gold Coast’s education and training sector with two of our members expanding their operations through the establishment of new premises. The Language Academy opened a wonderful new facility in May and this new headquarters for Kool Kids Training College is very impressive”, the Study Gold Coast CEO said.
Centrally located
The new Kool Kids Training College will be centrally located near the Scarborough Street light rail station and diagonally opposite the $500 million Queen Street Village development at the old Gold Coast Hospital site.
Sam Hendry says that while Kool Kids have come a long way since they began as a startup RTO just eight years ago, the pandemic has proven a real challenge for education and training institutions.
“COVID-19 has been a ‘gut punch’ to our sector and has seen many educational institutions hit the wall. We have had to pivot across all states where we train, notably during lockdowns but thankfully we are a fully cloud based RTO and have a resilient cohort of students who have continued to front up and progress with their training regardless of the troubled waters COVID-19 presents. We remain positive about the future and this investment is reflective of that confidence,” Sam said.
The new Kool Kids Training College is scheduled to open in October.
