Annie Yang

18 Nov 2021

Annie Yang was born in China, lived and taught in South Korea and has seen much of the world, but it’s the Gold Coast where her heart lies. Annie is currently studying a PhD in Tourism at Griffith University, and as part of her PhD has conducted research into Chinese students’ perspectives towards studying in Australia.

With the current political tensions between the Chinese and Australian governments, a global pandemic and our international borders about to reopen, Annie’s research could provide timely insights into the attitudes of Chinese students and their motivations for where they want to study and reasons for doing so.

COVID-19 has had a huge impact on international education, but for Annie there’s no question that she’s in the right place at the right time and that she sees a bright future for herself here on the Gold Coast and our tourism industry.
