Student Employability Liaison Officer

The Student Employability Liaison Officer is responsible for developing the framework to support the overall Study Gold Coast Employability Program. The framework will include a strategy to facilitate the relationship between SMEs and the education and training sector, with a focus on student engagement.

The role will facilitate the Study Gold Coast Pledge Program by responding to leads, enquiries and other information (including success stories and challenges), as well as identifying and liaising with relevant stakeholders to effectively build connections.

The role will undertake an audit of the sectors and wider industry in relation to student employability (including education providers and support services for students – domestic and international).

The Student Employability Liaison Officer will assist with Business Engagement workshops primarily by analysing information and findings to support the strategy development.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Study Gold Coast Student Employability Framework to support the ongoing Study Gold Coast Student Employability Campaign and build awareness.
  • Develop and build a strategy for SMEs to help improve connections with the Education and Training Sector with a focus on student engagement Facilitation of the Study Gold Coast.
  • Pledge Program - respond to leads, enquiries and other information as required this will include success stories and challenges.
  • Undertake an audit of the education and training sectors and wider industry in relation to student employability (education providers and support services for students - domestic and international).
  • Support the Study Gold Coast Student Employability Business Engagement workshops – provide an analysis of information and findings from workshops to support strategy development and framework.
  • Identify and liaise with relevant stakeholders to effectively build the connections.
  • Develop risk management criteria to ensure student / SME's relationship is managed effectively.
  • Ensure all recruitment is compliant with the Fair Work Act.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Ability to think strategically and support the broader objectives of the Study Gold Coast Strategic Plan and develop the relevant framework and policies specifically in relation to Student Employability.
  • A well-developed understanding of SMEs particularly of business operations and challenges.
  • Extensive knowledge of workforce development and student employability.
  • Proven skills in stakeholder and client management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Project management experience.
  • Sound understanding of the education sector.

Marketing Assistant

The Marketing Assistant works closely with the Head of Marketing, Brand and Events to develop and implement marketing projects and tasks across all channels in line with the Study Gold Coast Strategic Plan. This position will be hands on working across traditional and digital marketing projects on a variety of interesting and exciting initiatives. This role is important in raising the profile of Study Gold Coast campaigns and activities, and enhancing the organisation's local, national and international presence. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for the creation and delivery of relevant and timely content to its target audiences and stakeholders and will also assist with event coordination. This role will also assist in the development of all marketing collateral (including writing copy, briefing creative agencies and managing the printing process) and will need to align closely with the Study Gold Coast brand and Core Values. This position is the perfect graduate role offering variety and involvement in domestic and international marketing projects. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and goal-oriented with a 'get things done' mindset. Whether working individually, or as part of a team, they will be capable of planning and monitoring their own workload to deliver exceptional marketing and communications initiatives to achieve the best possible outcome for the organisation, its members and the city as an education destination.

Objectives:

  • Assist the Head of Marketing, Brand and Events in campaign development and implementation
  • Assist in the development of marketing collateral including writing copy, briefing designers and coordinating the printing process
  • Create and update various marketing material including emails, invitations, signage and PowerPoint presentations
  • Assist with day to day website maintenance and social media activities
  • Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns, projects and tasks
  • Coordinate brand activation activity
  • Coordinate the delivery of photography and videography projects
  • Assist with event coordination
  • Assist with the administrative duties for all marketing and event activity
  • Assist the Head of Marketing, Brand and Events and the CEO as required

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Marketing, communications or similar qualification
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite
  • Sound knowledge of digital and social media landscapes
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to negotiate to achieve acceptable outcomes and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to create, develop and manage cooperative partnerships with agencies and suppliers
  • Highly organised, motivated and proactive
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines

Desirable:

  • Passionate Gold Coaster and interest in destination marketing
  • Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, content management systems, CRM and email platforms
  • Experience in a marketing role
  • Knowledge of the Education & Training Industry

Additional Factors:

  • Australian Driver's Licence
  • This role will require weekend and night work
  • The role may require international travel
