WIN a $5,000 Career Support Grant

 

Study Gold Coast is pleased to announce we are offering a $5,000 Career Support Grant to one lucky winner who attends the 2021 Gold Coast Careers Festival. Every attendee has the chance to win the $5,000 grant, which can be used towards tuition fees at an accredited Gold Coast education or training provider, or other fees to kickstart a career (as approved by Study Gold Coast). You can enter the grant competition multiple times, by scanning your unique QR code at the booths of exhibitors you are interested in receiving information from.

To enter simply register to receive your own unique QR code and ask exhibitors to scan your code to gain entries into the competition. You may enter the competition as many times as you like, however there is a limit of one scan per exhibitor booth per visitor.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1.0       GENERAL

1.1       The title of the Competition is “2021 Gold Coast Careers Festival – Career Support Grant” (“Competition”).

1.2       Participation in the Competition is subject to the following terms and conditions and includes all information we provide on how to enter and the prize available. By submitting an entry (or entries) into the Competition, you are indicating to us that you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Only entries that comply to these terms and conditions will be considered valid and eligible to win.

1.3       The Promoter is Gold Coast Education and Training Network Inc. trading as Study Gold Coast (“Promoter”) in accordance with the Study Gold Coast Privacy Policy (https://www.studygoldcoast.org.au/privacy-policy/).

1.4       The Competition commences at 9:00am on 6 May 2021 and closes at 3:00pm on 8 May 2021.

1.5       The provider of the Competition QR Code system on behalf of Study Gold Coast is Entegy, Suite 5, 28 Donkin Street, West End Qld 4101.

 

2.0       ELIGIBILITY

2.1       You are eligible to enter the Competition if you are a visitor at the 2021 Gold Coast Careers Festival (“Festival”) being held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (2684-2690 Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach QLD 4218), during the official event times of 6 May 2021 to 8 May 2021 – 9:00am to 3:00pm AEST each day.

2.2        If the entrant is under the age of eighteen (18), the entrant must have the consent of their Parent or Legal Guardian by the way of approval. 

2.3       Employees of Study Gold Coast are not eligible to apply.

2.4       Entrants that are planning to study at a Gold Coast accredited education and training provider are  eligible to apply.

The Gold Coast accredited education and training provider must be listed on the Study Gold Coast website www.studygoldcoast.org.au/study/course-finder/.  

 

3.0       HOW TO ENTER THE COMPETITION

3.1       Each school student travelling to the Festival on 6 May or 7 May 2021 in arranged bus groups, will be issued an Event Pass with a free lanyard which schools will hand out to students before they arrive at the Festival. Each Event Pass will have a QR Code unique to each student.

The school is responsible for providing an accurate list of their students attending the Festival which will include students’ full names, telephone numbers and email addresses.

The unique QR Code will store the student’s full name, telephone number, email address and their school’s name.

3.2         Visitors to the Festival that are attending the Festival on 6 May – 8 May 2021 that are not travelling in arranged bus groups, will have the opportunity to scan a Competition QR Code upon entry to the Festival. Scanning the Competition QR Code will produce a form on the visitor’s device. It is the responsibility of the visitor to complete the form by providing their full name, telephone number, email address, and name of their education and training provider (if applicable).

3.3       The Festival visitors will visit the exhibitor booths and if they would like to receive further information from the exhibitor, they will present their unique QR code (via their personal lanyard or device) for scanning by the Festival exhibitor.

            The entrant consents to the Festival exhibitor using their personal information from their Competition QR Code to send email correspondence, links, and attachments as applicable. The Festival exhibitor may add the entrant’s information to their mailing list but must not share the details with any third parties.

            Upon the Festival exhibitor scanning the Competition QR Code from the entrant’s device, the entrant will automatically be entered into the Competition.

3.4         You may enter the Competition as many times as you like, however there is a limit of one (1) scan per exhibitor booth per visitor.

3.5       The Promoter is not responsible for any problems the entrant has in scanning their Competition QR code or using their device, including technical malfunction of any device or associated matters related to the entrant’s access or use of technology. The Promoter is also not responsible for any problems that Festival exhibitors have with the devices they use to scan the entrant’s Competition QR Code.

4.0       PRIZE

4.1       The Competition prize will be awarded to one (1) winner only and is valued at $5,000.00.

4.2       The prize must be used for payment of the winner’s course fees, course materials or related expenses at a Gold Coast accredited Education and Training provider. Alternatively, the winner may use the prize for payment of expenses to kickstart their career, subject to approval by Study Gold Coast. For the latter, the prize winner must provide written evidence of the expense, including a full description, purpose and name and address of the supplier to Study Gold Coast.

4.3       Upon approval by Study Gold Coast of the Competition winner’s expenses, Study Gold Coast will pay the education or training provider/supplier directly upon receipt of the provider or supplier’s invoice/s to the prize value of $5,000.00.

4.4       The prize may be used for a combination of the winner’s education and training expenses totalling the prize value of $5,000.00.

4.5       The prize value must be used within five (5) years of the Competition Draw Date.

4.6       This is a competition where the winner is picked at random. The entrant does not need to show any skill and all entries are equal.

 

5.0       DRAW DATE AND TIME

5.1         The Competition will be drawn on Wednesday, 12 May 2021 at 11:00am AEST at Study Gold Coast, 43 Nerang Street, Southport Qld 4215.

 

6.0       WINNER NOTIFICATION AND PUBLICATION

6.1       The winner will be notified by telephone call and confirmation will be sent in writing to the winner’s email address.

 

7.0       UNCLAIMED PRIZE

7.1         In the event that the winner does not accept the prize within seven (7) of the Competition Draw Date, Study Gold Coast reserves the right to perform a redraw. If the prize is to be redrawn, the redraw will occur on Friday, 21 May 2021 at 11:00am AEST. In the event that the second prize winner does not accept the prize within seven (7) of the Competition Redraw Date, Study Gold Coast reserves the right to draw another winner and so forth until a Competition winner accepts the prize and is confirmed eligible by Study Gold Coast.

 

8.0       INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

8.1       Study Gold Coast may publish the winner’s full name and the name of their education and training provider (if applicable) in any media including written format, on radio or social media, and on the Study Gold Coast website.

8.2       Study Gold Coast may interview the winner and use their story for promotional purposes.

 

Liability

Other than any liability that cannot be excluded by law (including the Australian Consumer Law), the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition and any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following:

  • any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter's control);
  • any entry that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter;
  • any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
  • any tax liability incurred by the winner; and
  • participation in any aspect of the Competition.
